Juliette June was born in Paris. She lives and works in Halsou, France.
From the age of 7 until her A level, Juliette June studies drawing with the Martenot method. Nourished by the multiple exhibitions she visits with her parents, she early develops an artistic sensibility. After three years studying literature (Licence de Lettres Sorbonne Paris IV), she starts a fine-arts undergraduate program and moves to London. She graduates with a first from a BA (Hons) Theatre: Design for performance, at Central Saint Martins School of Arts and Design in 2008.
The opportunity to design a set for the National Theatre of Greece confirms her taste for forms and colours but her desire to give birth to her own ideas grows. When she comes back to London, the artist rents an art studio where she explores how painting, drawing and movement can relate. Fond of dance and physical theatre, she creates performances allying painting and live music for the underground scene while she exhibits her canvases in several londonien galleries. In the meantime, she conceives and teaches for four consecutive years the Healing Creativity method that allow people to free their expression through the arts. Her creative process is supported by her two mentors Kath Burlinson and Paul Oertel.
2015 is a turning point for the artist who moves back to France and decides to settle down by the seaside. Inspired by the wild nature around her, she puts her bodily explorations in the service of painting. She regularly exhibits in galleries on the Basque coast and receives the Youth Award for her painting “On plonge ou pas?” at the Ducontenia Painting Award in 2017 and the first painting prize at the Adour-Bidassoa painting Award in 2020. She is represented by la Galerie Virginie Baro since 2019.
Since 2017, Juliette June teaches academic drawing, life drawing, painting and tools to develop your own artistic practice in Ilargi Taldea, a local association based in Saint-Jean-de-Luz.
