PAINTING WORKSHOP
Each morning, you will create a new painting in response to one of the three pillars of painting:
Morning 1 COLOR Background, palette and sensation
Morning 2 FORM Subject, format and composition
Morning 3 PLAY Texture and painting techniques
DRAWING WORKSHOP
Each morning, you will create a new drawing in response to one of the three pillars of drawing:
Morning 1 GESTURE & PERCEPTION Encountering the subject, looking and tracing
Morning 2 SPACE & EXPERIENCE Composing with the support, creating volume and depth (or not)
Morning 3 PLAY & PATHS Experimenting with line, flat and counter-form
It’s for you if
• you have never painted and want to get started
• you would like to paint en plein air but have never dared
• you already paint but need techniques for color, glazing, composition
• you feel overwhelmed by the data of a scene to paint
• you want the stimulation of the group and the encouraging gaze of a professional artist
• you are curious to paint a picturesque spot in the Basque Country under different lights
You’ll leave with
• the key steps to observe and paint an outdoor scene
• the satisfaction of having created a small painting: a painting executed with simplicity and truth
• the ability to make quick choices: light and palette (morning 1), composition and subject (morning 2), texture and painting effects (morning 3)
• the joy of having been able to reveal the magical aspect of a scene through painting
• the pleasure of having painted outdoors in the Basque Country with other painters, thus reconnecting with the tradition of Impressionist painters!

For you to provide
- for drawing : Paper A5 (Paint’on 250g) + watercolor pencils or felt pens
- for Painting : 10 acrylic paint: magenta red, cyan blue, primary yellow, brown, ocre, titanium white, black, pink, 1 fluo, your choice + 1 painting knife + 3 brushes (thin, medium, wide) + 3 supports minimum A3 type Paint’on 250g or canvas + 1 palette + 1 water pot
- for your comfort : water, hat, stool, keep it light !
Public
+ 14 years old. All levels. 10 people maximum.
Language
The workshop will be held in French, but Juliette is fluent in English and with also provide instructions in English when needed.
Price & conditions
TROIS PEINTURES 60€ one morning or 150€ for the full workshop (3 mornings) • Deposit : 50€
Your registration is validated when payment of the deposit is made. The balance is due one month before the workshop. The deposit is non refundable unless the organizer cancels the workshop. If you cancel until 15 days prior the workshop, you will be refunded with the amount for the workshop minus the deposit. If you cancel later than 15 days prior the workshop, no refund will be made. Any payment serves as acceptation of the above terms & conditions.
